The Art of War By Sun Tzu | Book Review

    Overview

The Art of War is a timeless and classic work on strategy, written by Sun Tzu, a Chinese military general, strategist and philosopher. The book was written over 2,500 years ago, yet its teachings continue to be relevant in today’s world, not only in military strategy, but also in politics, business, and even personal relationships.

The Art of War is a comprehensive guide to warfare, containing 13 chapters that cover various aspects of strategy, such as the use of spies, terrain, and timing. Each chapter is packed with insights and practical advice, designed to help leaders make effective decisions in the heat of battle.

One of the central themes of The Art of War is the importance of flexibility and adaptability in the face of changing circumstances. Sun Tzu argues that the most successful military leaders are those who can quickly adapt to changing conditions, rather than sticking rigidly to a preconceived plan. This is why he emphasizes the importance of understanding the enemy, and the need to constantly assess the situation on the ground.

Another key theme of The Art of War is the idea of “winning without fighting”. Sun Tzu believed that the ultimate goal of any military campaign was to defeat the enemy without having to engage in direct combat. He believed that the most successful leaders were those who were able to find ways to exploit their enemy’s weaknesses, rather than relying solely on brute force.

In business, The Art of War can be used as a guide to developing effective strategies and making sound decisions. For example, its teachings on the importance of flexibility and adaptability can be applied to the fast-paced and constantly changing world of commerce. Similarly, its emphasis on understanding the enemy and exploiting weaknesses can be applied to the cutthroat competition of the business world.

In conclusion, The Art of War is a timeless work that continues to inspire and inform leaders across a wide range of fields. Its teachings on strategy, flexibility, and adaptability have made it a classic in the annals of military and strategic thought, and its relevance continues to this day. Whether you are a military commander, a business leader, or just looking to improve your decision-making skills, The Art of War is an essential read.

    Overview

“Made to Stick” by Chip Heath is a must-read for anyone looking to improve their communication skills, whether in the workplace, in personal relationships, or in the public arena. This book provides a wealth of practical insights and concrete examples that demonstrate how to craft messages that are memorable, meaningful, and impactful.

For instance, they describe how the makers of the “Got milk?” advertising campaign were able to craft a simple, memorable message that resonated with consumers and helped to increase milk consumption. Similarly, they recount the story of how the makers of a children’s toy were able to overcome a major marketing challenge by reframing the product’s message in a way that made it both simple and unexpected.

In addition to offering insights into effective communication, “Made to Stick” also provides practical tips and strategies for improving one’s own messaging skills. For instance, the authors suggest using concrete examples and stories to make messages more memorable and impactful, and they provide guidelines for evaluating the credibility of information and sources.

  • Mastery of Love By Don Miguel Ruiz

Mastery of Love By Don Miguel Ruiz

Mastery of Love By Don Miguel Ruiz

    Quick Summary

“Mastery of Love: A Practical Guide to the Art of Relationship” by Don Miguel Ruiz is a powerful and insightful book that delves into the nature of love and relationships. It presents the ancient wisdom of the Toltecs and offers practical tips and techniques for achieving mastery in our personal and professional relationships. Through his unique and thought-provoking teachings, Ruiz provides readers with a roadmap for transforming their relationships and achieving happiness and fulfillment in life.

One of the key themes of the book is the concept of love as a form of personal growth and transformation. Ruiz explains that love is not just an emotion or feeling, but a way of being that requires us to understand and embrace our own emotions, beliefs, and limitations. By learning to love ourselves and others more deeply, we can create more meaningful and fulfilling relationships and live a happier, more purposeful life.

Another important theme of the book is the importance of self-love in relationships. Ruiz argues that our capacity to love others is directly tied to our ability to love ourselves. He explains that when we lack self-love, we become trapped in limiting beliefs and behaviors that prevent us from creating healthy and fulfilling relationships. By practicing self-love, we can break free from these patterns and learn to love ourselves and others in a more authentic and meaningful way.

One of the most powerful aspects of the book is the emphasis on communication as a key to creating healthy relationships. Ruiz argues that effective communication is the cornerstone of any strong relationship, and provides readers with tips and techniques for improving their own communication skills. He explains the importance of listening actively, speaking from the heart, and avoiding judgment and expectations in order to build more meaningful and satisfying relationships.

The book also introduces the concept of “the four agreements of love”: be impeccable with your word, don’t take things personally, don’t make assumptions, and always do your best. These agreements are simple yet profound, and provide a framework for creating more fulfilling relationships with others and ourselves. By living in accordance with these agreements, we can overcome fear and reclaim the power of love in our lives.

Another powerful theme of the book is the importance of letting go of expectations and judgments in our relationships. Ruiz argues that expectations and judgments are the root cause of much of our suffering and conflict in relationships, and that by learning to let go of these negative thought patterns, we can create more harmonious and fulfilling connections with others. The concept of “domestication” is another important theme of the book, and refers to the process by which we are trained to conform to societal expectations and beliefs about love and relationships. Ruiz explains that domestication can prevent us from experiencing the full depth and richness of love and relationships, and that by breaking free from these limitations, we can reclaim our natural capacity for love and connection.

Ultimately, “Mastery of Love” is a book that inspires and transforms. Through its teachings and exercises, readers are encouraged to explore their own beliefs and emotions, and to develop a stronger and more loving connection with themselves and others. Whether you’re seeking to improve your existing relationships or looking for a deeper understanding of love, this book is a must-read for anyone on the path to personal growth and happiness.

In conclusion, “Mastery of Love” by Don Miguel Ruiz is a powerful and transformative guide to the art of relationships. Through its insights and teachings, readers can learn to love themselves and others more deeply, and to create more meaningful and fulfilling relationships in all areas of their lives.

    My Thoughts | Highlights

I enjoyed reading another Jeremiah J. Brown Book, He does an incredible job of putting a lot of normally dense information in a small easy-to-read book. The book in total is maybe 85 pages or so, so you can finish it in a few hours max. He takes the reader on a journey through different aspects of the financial spectrum and key philosophies.

Here are a few highlights he touches on to give you an idea of what to expect in the book:

    • The IRS has it’s favorites or better yet the tax code is written to 90% of the time benefit investors and entrepreneurs.

    • Never sell the Chicken only sell the eggs, the Chicken is the asset that produces the cash flow(eggs). (Think Rental Property)

    • Price and Value are not the same thing, the worse thing you can do is overpay especially for a liability. An Example of this would be buying a vehicle that’s MSRP is $120,000 but you pay $200k for it. The Value is the $120k, obviously there is nuance within this.

    • Treat long term investing in the stock market like you would when you are bargain shopping focus on the deals within the market.

    • Just 39% of people have at least $1000 saved to cover an emergency, that means 61% of people don’t have a $1,000 in their savings.

    • More than 70% of americans live paycheck to paycheck.

    • Audacity separates the haves and have nots.

He speaks on Bitcoin, Gold, Retirement accounts, triple net lease investing, R.E.I.T, Helocs, and so many more topics. He does a good job of getting straight to the point with not a lot of fluff. A lot of the topics he discusses gives you enough information to do further research on your own as well.

  • Mastery by Robert Greene | Book Review

Mastery by Robert Greene | Book Review

Mastery by Robert Greene | Book Review

    Summary Outline

In “Mastery,” Robert Greene explores the concept of achieving mastery in one’s chosen field. He argues that it is not just talent or ambition that leads to success, but rather it is the combination of these qualities with dedicated practice and a focus on continuous learning that ultimately leads to true mastery.

According to Greene, the journey towards mastery involves several key steps. First, it is important to have a clear vision of what you want to achieve and be willing to commit to the long-term process of learning and improvement. This requires patience, as true mastery takes time and cannot be rushed.

One key aspect of the journey towards mastery is apprenticeship. Greene emphasizes the importance of learning from masters in one’s field, arguing that by studying and observing those who have already achieved mastery, one can gain valuable insights and shortcut the learning process. This can involve seeking out mentors, internships, or other opportunities to work directly with experienced professionals.

In addition to apprenticeship, Greene also stresses the importance of constantly seeking out new challenges and experiences. It is through tackling difficult problems and stepping outside of one’s comfort zone that true growth and development occur. This requires a willingness to take risks and a resilience to setbacks and failures along the way.

Overall, “Mastery” is a thought-provoking and insightful look at what it takes to achieve excellence in any field. Through a combination of historical examples and practical advice, Greene provides a roadmap for anyone looking to reach their full potential and achieve mastery in their chosen pursuit. Whether you are just starting out in your career or looking to take your skills to the next level, this book is an invaluable resource for anyone seeking to achieve mastery.

    My Thoughts | Highlights

I truly enjoyed this read and not only would I recommend it to you. I’d actually read it again myself because it’s so many gems within it that it’s hard to really retain the information. It’s honestly not a book you’d read once anyways, It’s more of a book centered around taking in a section at a time. Mastery by Robert Greene gives you a deep dive into not only finding your purpose but mastering it and the evolution of the process as a whole. Robert Greene breaks down the entire process from the development of the first thoughts around your purpose to apprenticeship of molding it and developing it to Mastery. He does this through giving examples of extraordinary people within their field.

Here are some of my personal thoughts from reading the book.

    • Don’t look for validation on an idea GOD gave you from MAN.

    • People will not understand your methods or process until its fully formed or whole.

    • God did not place you here to be like anyone else, you are created completely unique for a reason.

    • Never allow yourself to feel the need to fit in with the masses.

    • “One can have no smaller or greater master than mastery of oneself”. – Leonardo Davinci

    • The more you go after quick money or opportunities the further away from your purpose you go.

    • When you were a child you had a natural internal compass on what you were interested in and what direction you should go. As you grew you slowly have everyone trying to beat it out of you and get you to conform to society norms. You didn’t lose this internal force you simply need to reawaken it within.

    • Your spirit will naturally have you gravitate towards what is meant for you and your interest and what is not.

    • What your purpose is may not be invented or their may not be an official title for it yet. Don’t let that discourage your research or path towards Mastery.

These are a few of the short thoughts I had that I really gathered while reading it. Definitely check it out and let me know your thoughts by commenting below.

  • Supernatural Confidence by Jamar Camper | Book Review

Supernatural Confidence by Jamar Camper | Book Review

    Let’s get into it.

    Supernatural Confidence

    What’s good Cannon Movement Fam,

Today we will discuss author, entrepreneur, investor Jamar Camper’s new book. This is the first of the many books he has in his pipeline to come titled “Supernatural Confidence”. As always I’ll leave a link you can use to pick up your copy today!

If you are new to the channel I discuss finance, business, investing, and do book reviews. So make sure to subscribe and hit that notification bell so you don’t miss out.

We will go over my impressions of the book, what you can expect, and I’ll ask you some questions to get your thoughts on the book if you’ve read it as well in this video.

Supernatural Confidence starts out exactly as I expected it to in an unapologetic news flash sort of way. If you didn’t know Jamar’s ideology the preface punches you square in the face with it lol and I loved every moment of it. From calling out modern society to cancel culture.

I also enjoyed the authors writing style. He elegantly weaved in personal stories along with lessons and consistently drove home the point of the book throughout. You get a real sense of his passion and growth through the stories and lessons he puts into Supernatural Confidence.

One of my favorites being when he spoke about one of his first times approaching a girl in high school and getting her number. I felt like I was there and fortunately for me, this is an author from my hometown so I vividly remembered the hallways and the classrooms.

It took me back to my first time trying to get a girl’s number and how nervous I was during that process and I couldn’t help but laugh because of how much I could relate to this story. Also, Make sure to Comment on your favorite personal story below and why it stood out to you.

Another thing I enjoyed was the author constantly challenges you in the book to dig deeper within yourself. One thing he challenges you to say is “I’m the most confident person in the world” after you’ve said it he asks you a series of questions about how do you feel saying that statement.

I’d challenge you to do that as well. This will give you a small taste of what’s in store if you haven’t already picked up this book. It also made me really evaluate my own personal experiences of the past and why I’m overly humble in situations when it’s not necessary.  I realized that it stems from my early school days and trying my hardest to kill the preconceived notion people had about me.  They automatically assumed that I’m light skin and I dressed well so I must be arrogant and cocky. I remember constantly trying to lower myself or minimize my accomplishments to make others comfortable around me all the way into my early 20s. So this part of the book definitely stood out to me.

He also conveys his ideology flawlessly in a way you can easily digest and understand.  It’s focused on not being a victim to your circumstances and unlocking your own supernatural confidence. Which he walks you through exactly how to do that through his real-life scenarios and through explanations. He always explains the benefits of doing it. Also, Jamar walks you through the battle you face within and explaining the many relationship dynamics and the fantasy people have of you in their heads. The pitfalls to avoid, killing off your old self that you are in a battle with and so much more.

I’m not even doing it justice in this review because the topics are vast and detailed. But what I’ll say is if you read Supernatural Confidence what were your biggest takeaways? What stood out to you?

If you loved this review make sure to subscribe hit that notification bell and get ready for the next book review. Catch you next time Cannon Movement Fam!

    Full Video Transcript Below

Cannon Movement Fam What’s Good Man I know it’s been a minute you don’t even gotta tell me but I’m back again another book review.

If you follow me on Instagram you already know what it is Jeremiah Brown’s financial freedom super dope book. I can go ahead tell you at the very beginning, I’m definitely gonna recommend this book to you at the very end of the video. So definitely check it out! Let’s get straight to it man, make sure you like you subscribe you share that thing, the same thing as always man I appreciate the support!

If you’ve never watched one of my book reviews let me go ahead and break down hot normally work what I do is I hit a couple of points in the book that really stands out to me that are noteworthy to me or that affect me personally and then at the end I tell you hey go copy that’s pretty much how it goes so you got a whole synopsis of what you’re looking forward to alright

Let’s get to it alright so one of the things I really loved about this book was that Jeremiah Brown goes to the genesis of money like the genesis of how money is created he even goes as far back to talk about Abraham Lincoln and how he signed another act that isn’t really talked about to educate freed slaves on money

So that was amazing to me and if you’re interested definitely cop the book definitely read more up on it so when I say the genesis of money what I’m talking about is the Federal Reserve the banks rolling money you know just that whole how money is even created.

Like he goes over that and I’m not used to that and reading financial books and I felt like that was really awesome that he took the time to not assume that you knew anything so it would be good for beginners you know or novice or intermediate or experts.

I mean I feel like you learned everything in this book maybe you’ll take a lot from it so that’s one of the things that I really really liked about it the second thing that really stood out to me in this book was the constant underlying tone of financial independence and cash flow passive income so those are the things.

That I’ve really really enjoyed about the book and I felt like that anyone trying to get into financial literacy should really pick up those terms and understand those terms because that’s the way to freedom that’s the way for – in my opinion, peace to get out of the rat race so the fact that he constantly went over it.

And not only went over it and explain to you what those terms mean but he also gave you examples of ways to create your own passive income and also he gave an example of his friend who you know for ten years worked for a job he was a correctional officer he started on it like 60,000 a year.

I’m not sure where he was at you guys gonna feel I lose here I make six thousand years being a Christian officer. I don’t know what they may gotta research that but either way it was a great example because he made $60,000 a year. He bought two houses every single year for the whole ten years that you know he worked there he’s 32 and at 32 he brings in about five to seven thousand passive income and then he makes about five thousand from his job.

So I think a total of twelve thousand that he actually makes now as opposed to if he would have just spent his money and got liabilities and bought expensive things and you know he would’ve been in a bad situation so he he also brought up another example where he was like that you know your boss isn’t going to make you rich but he’s going to make sure you get your paycheck or make sure you get your bonus it’s up to you to make sure that you’re actually wealthier rich down the line that’s all based off of what you spend your time Warner what you spend your money on that’s gonna create wealth so that’s another thing that he kind of like you know alluded to when talking about that so that was one of the things that really stood out to me another reason why I recommend this book the third thing that really stood out to me that I really enjoyed about it was that he talked about your mindset which I feel like is really really important I always say it’s like one of my philosophy like you know you think everything you created or you visualized in the creator and I always say that and that’s really important so one of the things that he emphasized with that you have to start thinking as you’re already rich like having a rich mind inside like where would you invest your money like how would you create your your cash flow if you’re rich so just having that mindset so you start approaching life in that manner and then understanding what rich people actually do not just the flashy stuff but understanding what they do to become wealthy and I think that’s another essential part with having that rich mindset isn’t just flossing for Instagram or being like you’re flying here you’re flying here but actually understanding what they do to make that happen one of the things that he quoted was Kevin O’Leary who said that he doesn’t spend any of his you know if it’s capital he just spends the the cash flow off of it so whatever he buys you know whatever asset he gets the cash flow he gets off of that asset he never spends the initial investment essentially so I thought that was really awesome that he hid that I was another reason why I love the book and I definitely definitely definitely would recommend you guys go out and get it so awesome book I signed up Jeremiah Brown for even you know let me know about this book because it was awesome so definitely check him out I’m gonna link it and shout out riches toy box awesome awesome guy always supported shotty oh it’s important and make sure you subscribe you like that video all right hold it

  • Jump by Steve Harvey | Book Review

Jump by Steve Harvey | Book Review

    What’s good Cannon Movement Fam.

“This was an exceptional read from beginning to end.”

    Cannon Highlights

The concept behind “Jump” is explained and mentioned throughout the entire book.  The way he does it is what impresses me the most.  He takes what he has been through in life and the very intimate times he has had to jump himself.  That’s what captures you about this book and makes it such an easy read.  When he spoke on his humble beginnings, you can really envision him sleeping in his car, valuing bathrooms and showers.  Starving and making sandwiches inside of the grocery store without paying.  MAKING ONLY 4,000 for a whole year!!!

It all comes back to the concept of jumping, if he had never “jumped” he’d never be where he is today in life.  That’s one of the things that stand out to me the most.  He also details times when he was successful and had to use the same concept to get further in life or overcome massive 8 figure tax fines.

This book is a gold mine and if you apply his philosophy into your life.  The world is yours.  Definitely a great read and I’d love to hear your comments below.

    What’s good Cannon Movement Fam!

So today I wanted to go over a few highlights to me and why I’d recommend you take the time to read this book.

First lets go over how he decided to go about delivering his message in this book.  He went out and interviewed successful people and asked them very specific questions about their routines.  It was really interesting how you not only get the information from them but also the perspective of Daymond John himself on the information they’ve provided.  It’s a like a 2 for 1 deal or something lol. I guess you could say in his case it’s like getting to members of shark tank to buy into your product for the same 10% you were willing to give up in the first place. The reason I feel you should check out this book is everything above plus it really gives you the groundwork of success.  It lets you know first hand essentially, that success isn’t done by accident its very intentional and routine.

Definitely take the time to check this one out and give me feedback and let me know what you think.
